SOUTH TYROL MUSEUM OF ARCHAEOLOGY
Opened in 1998, the South Tyrol Museum of Archaeology presents the history of South Tyrol from the Palaeolithic and Mesolithic (15,000 B.C.) to the Carolingian period (around 800 A.D.).
Along with original finds there are models, reconstructions, pictures, friezes, videos and interactive multimedia stations that give an educational and entertaining insight into the early history of the southern Alpine region.
Ötzi the Iceman (3,300 B.C.) and the artefacts found alongside him from the centrepiece of the exhibition.
